Please welcome Mrs. Chantell McKnight to the Weaubleau Community! Mrs. Mcknight will serve as the K-12 Music Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. We asked her a few questions so you could get to know her. ● Where are you from? o I am originally from Lebanon Missouri, but currently live on a farm with my husband in Morrisville. ● Why did you choose to get into K-12 education? o K-12 Education has held a special place in my heart ever since I started my study of teaching. These schools hold such a unique atmosphere for students to learn in. ● Who was your favorite teacher in school and why? o My favorite teacher(s) were probably my band directors in highschool. They taught me so much about music and how impactful it can be on others. They inspired me to be the best musician and teacher I can be. ● Who inspires you? o Many educators throughout the years have inspired me to be the best teacher I can for my students, but my personal inspiration comes from my husband. ● Where is your favorite place in the world? o I would have to say my favorite place in the world would be admiring the ocean on the beach or diving in the ocean. ● What are you passionate about? o I feel it is my calling and passion to be a part of students' education, especially in music. Caring for the future generations that will come after us is important in shaping our communities around us. As teachers we are a vital source of knowledge for these kids. To help ensure a students' future success, we have to do our best in teaching them in the classroom more than just the content required, but things that enhance their quality of life as well. ● What is your favorite movie? o My favorite movie would have to be The Book of Life. My favorite aspects of the movie include the musical instruments represented culturally as well as the genres of music used to enhance the plot. ● Who is your favorite superhero? o My favorite superhero would have to be Dr. Strange. His powers are so interesting and creative. ● If you were a crayon what color would you be? o My color would be blue. (only because that is my favorite color!) ● Anything else you would like to tell us about yourself? o I am so excited to begin this new journey at Weaubleau and cannot wait to start in August!

All this school year, Mrs. Lewton's class has worked on reading fluency with their partners.  One partner listens and gives help if needed while the other partner reads for one minute. After each partner has had an opportunity to read 3 times, the partners each talk for a minute about what they remember from the reading and listening.

Please welcome Blake Allen to the Weaubleau Community. Blake has been an assistant basketball coach at Hillcrest, Thayer and most recently Willard. Coach Allen will serve as our boys basketball coach and PE teacher starting the 2021-2022 school year. We asked Coach Allen a few questions so you could get to know him. Where are you from? Thayer, Missouri Why did you choose to get into K-12 education? I always loved school growing up and realized the impact some of my teachers and coaches had on myself throughout the years. I've always looked up to them and wanted to, one day, have the same impact on students that they had on myself. Who was your favorite teacher in school and why? English teacher Trudy Britton. Her classes were always enjoyable and one to look forward to each day. Who inspires you? My former high school coach Matt Pitts. He's always been there for me throughout the years as I've pursued the same career path, held me accountable, and taught me how to be a part of something bigger than myself. Where is your favorite place in the world? Arrowhead Stadium What are you passionate about? Overcoming adversity, not just myself but being able to be a part of the process and having an impact on helping others do the same. What is your favorite movie? Remember The Titans Who would you most like to swap places with for ● a day? Bill Self What is your favorite meal? Sushi Who is your favorite superhero? Captain America If you were a crayon what color would you be? Green Anything else you would like to tell us about yourself? I'm really excited and looking forward to getting started this summer and becoming a part of the Weaubleau community.
