March 16, 2020

Dear Weaubleau Community,

There is no higher priority for our entire Weaubleau School District than the safety of our students, staff and community. As our local, national, and international communities continue to assess the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Weaubleau School District receives ongoing guidance from the local and state health departments, the State Department of Education, and the CDC.

This afternoon I am writing to inform you of the closure of the Weaubleau R-3 School District beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 through Monday, March 30, 2020. During this time all extra-curricular practices and other after school activities are canceled as well. The current plan calls for practices/activities to resume when school returns on Tuesday, March 31 and contest beginning on Saturday, April 4.  With this being said, our closure could be extended with guidance from the local and state health departments, the State Department of Education, and the CDC.

We have been working with teachers to develop alternate forms of instruction. These plans will be finalized by staff on Tuesday, March 17. On Wednesday, March 18 we ask that all students come to school and pick up needed items, assignments and extra Super-Snack supplies at these designated times. Please enter the doors on the south side of school and proceed into the multi-purpose room (cafeteria) where all needed material will be.

We realize that closing our schools presents many hardships for our community. Our ability to provide learning during this unprecedented time will require a close partnership between the schools and parents/guardians. Please check your email regularly and be in contact with your child’s teachers.

Please understand that these plans will not be perfect, but we ask you to work with us as we navigate these unprecedented times. Updates and information will be communicated by the District via voice calls, text notifications, our social media sites, and our website. (www.weaubleau.k12.mo.us)

Thank you for your patience and continued support of our efforts to be proactive during this time. The Weaubleau community is the most caring and compassionate place I have ever experienced. I am confident the community will work as a team and support each other through these difficult times.
